3 Budget Friendly Ways to Shop Spring Trends

If you're eyeing this year's spring trends but want to save your coins here are three ways to shop smart without breaking the bank.

1. Start in your closet.

Starting in your closet means you don't have to spend a dime. As the story goes, history repeats itself and a lot of items that you already have may be “on trend”. A party dress with a fringe bottom can be remixed into a skirt if you add a tee, blazer, and sneakers.

2. Go thrifting.

Notice how everything is looking old school these days? The thrift store or a vintage store is the best place to start. These items might even be a better quality because they are well made and have lasted long enough to make it through x amount of years in someone else's closet and can find a home right in yours.

3. Shop at trendy but affordable stores.

If you know you just want to look cute for the season, go cheap. (I don’t recommend trendy & cheap but if you want to be one of the cool kids by all means...) Go to your Forever 21’s and such for those not so pricey but cute and cost-conscious items. Over it before the seasons ends? Head to Buffalo Exchange, Plato’s Closet, or your local resale store to get some of those coins back. You can also setup an online resale store via Poshmark, Vinted, Depop or eBay apps.

Remember that even if it's trendy, it doesn't mean that it cant serve purpose as a wardrobe staple. Opt for items that you feel comfortable in as you'll be prone to wear them more often. Overwhelmed at the thought of shopping? Start small and show your spring spirit via accessories (handbag, earrings, shoes, etc.)
